The other 4 provinces report none. 5 zones carry 53 of these 78 cases: Mandima 16, Beni 16, Bunia 11, Wamba 5 and Mambasa 5. Yakoma, a newly affected zone, adds 3 cases to the cumulative count, none of them among the day's new cases: the national total takes them into account, the 24-hour figure does not. 48 of the 67 affected health zones reported at least one new case in the past three weeks; 19 reported none.
03 Deaths

04 The response
3,743 reports of possible patients ("alerts") were received; 3,743 were checked and 611 retained as suspected cases, to be tested. Nord-Ubangi did not send its figures. Of 488 samples tested in the laboratory, 78 were positive, that is 16.0 %. 87.2 % of the people who had been close to a patient (the "contacts") were seen by follow-up teams. Ebola treatment centres hold 58 patients per 100 beds: 946 patients for 1,623 beds. Beyond capacity: Nord-Kivu, 508 patients for 410 beds. Vaccination: 10,018 people have received the Ervebo vaccine since the campaign began on 26 Aug 2026: 4,953 in Tshopo (figure of 27 Sep 2026), 1,969 in Ituri, 1,907 in Bas-Uélé, 600 in Nord-Kivu (figure of 20 Oct 2026) and 589 in Haut-Uélé (figure of 19 Oct 2026). Since the previous bulletin, 96 more in Ituri and 122 more in Bas-Uélé. At control points on roads and at borders, 330,106 travellers passed through and 97.0 % had a temperature check.
05 The difficulties encountered
In Ituri, 2 suspected cases at the Bela and Foner Mambasa checkpoints were not transferred, for lack of an ambulance or because of refusals, blood is still lacking and 38 patients are in critical condition. In Nord-Kivu, treatment centres are almost full (86.3%), 154 patients are being treated outside them and the Butuhe checkpoint has remained closed since the security incident of 26 September. In Tshopo, the health workers' strike and assaults on teams are still disrupting contact follow-up, none of the 6 bodies was sampled and 22 frontline health workers stopped their preventive treatment in Bafwasende because of insecurity. In Haut-Uélé, the community of Bolebole, between Pawa and Wamba, refuses the opening of checkpoints and threatens the teams. In Bas-Uélé, 16 of 20 priority facilities have no working triage and vaccination remains almost nil in Bili (0 of 1,067).
